Each year, applications are accepted for a limited number of educational scholarships offered as part of the Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund (the “Scholarship Fund”). The application deadline for the Fall 2004/Spring 2005 school year has been extended to May 1, 2004.
The Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to assist children and/or spouses of deceased public employees who died in the line of duty, and who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.
The maximum scholarship award is $10,000 and will be paid in two equal payments of $5,000. The number of scholarships granted each year may vary depending upon the number of qualified applications received in the following categories: Fire and Rescue, Law Enforcement, and General Public Employees. Individuals are eligible to receive only one award. Awards are for vocational, undergraduate and graduate study.
